MIND DOGS

Mind Dogs is a great organization that helps individuals train and accredit psychiatric assistance dogs. This type of assistance dog is specifically trained to help with mental health conditions, such as depression, anxiety, PTSD, and many more. Unlike traditional service dogs, mind dogs don't necessarily perform specific tasks - instead, they provide emotional support and comfort to their owners, helping to ease symptoms and improve overall well-being.

Having a mind dog can bring a host of benefits for individuals with mental health conditions. The dogs can provide a sense of companionship and comfort, which can help alleviate feelings of loneliness and isolation. The mere presence of a dog can lower stress levels and decrease anxiety. In addition, having a mind dog can help break down social barriers, as people are often more likely to strike up a conversation when a furry friend is involved.

As an official trainer for Mind Dogs, I help learner dogs and handlers learn the important skills they need to pass their certification, and provide ongoing support during the training process.
