Services
Learn about how to train your new puppy in a small group class environment, including basic manners, confidence building activities, helpful tricks, and more! Tailored content for each group based on each puppy's needs, managed one-on-one puppy interactions and helpful discussion points about common (& not so common) challenges with raising a puppy. Classes are opened based on demand, and are held at Chancellor Park Vet and Aura Vet on Sundays.
For new clients only - take advantage of a free 30-minute video or phone consult to get to know us and our methods better. Preliminary advice included but training plans need more time to develop.
The first time that Sam will meet with you and your dog at your home, after gathering some background information about you & your dog’s unique situation. Consults will cover different topics & activities based on preliminary info and observations and can be further customised by the client if desired.
Bringing home a puppy or dog for the first time? Perhaps it’s not your first puppy but you’re concerned about integrating them with your existing dog, or you just want a refresher on those pivotal first few months. There are lots of simple things that you can do that prevent problems from arising later on, both in terms of household management as well as your interactions and the puppy’s daily schedule. Being proactive early can really reduce the risk of headaches down the track! This package is highly customisable and can include 1:1 in person sessions, virtual consults, as well as attending group puppy classes.
A secondary or further follow up 60-minute session with you and your dog, helping to implement the initial training/ management setup as well as further training activities and goals.
This class will expand on the skills and activities covered in the pre-requisite Level 1 puppy class or 2 private general manners sessions. Customisable content based on your priorities including recall, stay/wait, handling activities, confidence building and more. Lots of focus is put on loose lead walking and polite greetings. We will also cover some more advanced concepts like creating behaviour chains, alternative ways to reward our dogs as well as strategies to reduce undesirable behaviours. Classes are held on Saturdays at Kawana Scout Group.

If you live in a remote area or can't afford in-person consults, you're still able to access training via online consultations. The first session will involve some history taking, environmental management suggestions as well as some initial training activities.

About Sam
I've dedicated the last 15 years to learning about dog behaviour so I can help dogs and their humans live happily and peacefully together. With postgraduate tertiary qualifications in Animal Behaviour and more than a decade’s experience working with shelter and pet dogs, I look forward to working with you and your companion to help you understand each other and minimise conflict.
I use whatever your dog LOVES to motivate them and achieve our training goals. This could be play, attention and praise from humans, or as almost everyone loves, snacks!
Even for human aggression cases, I avoid the use of tools designed to cause fear or pain, and don't use physical punishment. Feel free to reach out for more information about me or my training methodologies by clicking the button below.
